Hello there! we’ve been messing with our Wordpress template (our back end page changed completely, so I’m barely getting use to it). Hang in there because as you may know already unpredictable things happen when you start touching and tweaking your settings. So my regular post is somehow behind but it’s a nice juicy one showcasing our latest letterpress Wedding Invitation.

I have to confess this order brought us a very important lesson. Never promise clients to match colors exactly

… It wasn’t our intention but some how we did. So this order was printed twice!!, yes once in a while you have to do it. We really believe that clients should always leave completely satisfied with their product, so we try to make any possible effort to actively represent that mission.

Paper color (beige) and motifs (blue and red) were flat printed onto white paper

Anyhow, this card was mounted onto a red paper (back) and only the chocolate color was letterpressed. The labels on the envelope were done with off-white textured (light weight) paper. The RSVP postcard was letterpress in one ink color, but the beige color paper was printed onto a white paper

Like it?? I think they are very cute!

Remember this invite? This is how it looks in our book. Can you imagine getting this envelope in the mail? I would actually love to be invited to the events we design invitations for

For this order we made a bird rubber stamp to go with the combo. The rubber stamp was used in the envelopes and napkins. The ink pad used is special for making a water mark in any color paper you use it on. The little flower stamp was done with red ink and the calligraphy was hand done with white matte ink.

{Click to make bigger}

You are probably asking how much would this cost. Well envelope accessories vary a lot, but to give you an approximate idea, calligraphy is usually $3.50 per envelope, rubber stamps are $40 each (medium) and $20 each (small). If you stamp yourself you can safe a lot, if you would like us to stamp for you it costs $0.20 per stamp plus the cost of the ink pads. So, depending on the quantity order, to accessorized an envelope like this could cost between $4.50 to $5.00 each

Besides the main items, this invite was accessorized with:

Return address rubber stamp

Calligraphy

Booklet insert (for info details, map, directions, and places to go in town)

“Save the Date” card

Selected matching mailing stamps

Veneer to for the invite folder (to bring the woodsy feeling, since the wedding was in Mammoth)

They are one of my favorite things to design. These cards above where done by the end of last year, and now we will start to design Wedding Invites for Amanda pretty soon! exciting!. I have experienced many times that the design process flows so much better when designing a small thing first and then a whole harmonizing set blooms in my head out of that first piece or inspiring notion. I love when that happens in the creative process!
