Right now there are lots of necklaces and just one type of earrings, we do have more earrings and we will be posting them steadily in the next following weeks. We are very new to etsy so any advice or recommendation from fellow sellers would be much appreciated!!

Last weekend we went to get some advise from a professional at the SBA (Small Business Association). They have a place called Score where you can get counseling one on one and they help you out in any area you need. Well, it didn’t go so smoothly as we thought it would. Maybe it was bad luck for us that day or something? …but they had very very very very mature men (not to say old) attending to people and it just didn’t click with us… This is a really short version of how it went:

SEÑOR: Oh! you do logos and that kind of stuff? -Once, I needed a logo for a company I was building and you know what I did? I went and got it for free. Yes, I went to the closest College and managed to get it in as an assignment and the kids did it free.

US: Uh-hum, great.

SEÑOR: So, you want to manufacture and sell product to stores? That’s pretty simple. What do you want to make for example?

US: paper products for example

SEÑOR: Well, just look up a place you think might do it, like a mhmmm, let’s see, a printer?! Call them and ask and if they don’t, they’ll give you another name of somebody else and so on until you get to right place. Afte that try and get the buyers to see your prototype and if they buy it, get a P.O. and you’re set.

US: Alright then, pretty easy, thanks!

Ok, no it didn’t end like that, but by that point we wanted to leave that place quick and cut it short. At least we tried and we know that there are other ways to get more advice there, so we’ll take it some other way. We did get some handouts that will help us out with making a business plan and that’s what we are working on now.

We will be making a business plan and making our designs at the same time. Let’s see how this goes!! We are excited to grow or company in new directions!! Suerte manita!
